Our Impact / What We Do

Advocacy & Policy Influence
Cameroon GBC strives for positive change in the built environment by raising awareness, engaging stakeholders, advocate for policy reforms, and collaborate with public and private entities in the built environment.
Training & Certification
Organization of workshops, seminars and trainings for scholars, professionals and third parties. We evaluate and verify the environmental sustainability of buildings. The aim is to promote practices that have a positive impact on the environment and reduce the carbon footprint.

Networking & Partnerships
We engage with government, industry, and communities to shape policies that promote sustainable building practices. By influencing regulations and standards, we help create an enabling environment for a greener, healthier Cameroon.
Research & Awareness Campaigns
GBC CAM is working in collaboration with waste recycling companies in our network. We encourage the recycling waste generated during construction as well as those produced within building's lifespan through sensibilization campaigns.

What are Green Buildings?
Green buildings, also known as sustainable buildings or eco-friendly buildings, are structures that are designed and constructed with environmental considerations in mind. These buildings aim to minimize the negative impacts on the environment throughout their entire life cycle, including their design, construction, operation, and demolition. They incorporate various sustainable practices and technologies to reduce energy consumption, conserve water, and promote the use of renewable resources. Green buildings often utilize energy-efficient systems, such as solar panels, efficient insulation, and smart building automation, to optimize energy usage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, they prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials and implement strategies to improve indoor air quality, enhance natural lighting, and promote occupant health and well-being. Overall, green buildings play a crucial role in mitigating climate change, conserving resources, and creating healthier and more sustainable communities.
